About Rick

Rick Myers picked up the bass in the U.S. Army, came to Nashville in 1993, and recognized how competitive the professional musician path was. He pivoted to music business at Belmont University and has spent the three decades since building a career as an entertainment CPA — working with record labels, business managers, and artist finance, and continuing today as a consultant to a range of entertainment firms.

The bass itself didn't come along for the whole ride — Rick set it down for 14 years while he built that career and raised a family. Two years ago, he picked it back up. Do I need to be an advanced bassist to book a bass session?
Not at all. Rick's own return-to-playing story is the channel's foundation. If you're picking it back up after a break, or trying to get more serious about tone and technique without turning it into a second job, that's exactly who these sessions are for.
I'm not an artist — I'm a manager or industry professional. Can I still book the business lane?
Yes. Rick works with artists, managers, label staff, and anyone trying to get a clearer picture of how entertainment finance actually works. The lane isn't about your role; it's about what you're trying to understand.
Can a session cover both bass and business topics?
Rick is genuinely equipped for both, and the intersection is where things get interesting. Book whichever lane fits your primary need and mention in your booking notes if you want to touch on the other side.
What platform do sessions run on?
Zoom. A link is included in your confirmation email the moment you book. No additional software or account required on your end.
What's your cancellation policy?
Sessions can be rescheduled with 24 hours notice at no charge. Cancellations inside 24 hours are non-refundable, but Rick will do his best to make it work if something genuinely comes up.
